* Imbolc Public RitualHearth: CelticWhen: Sunday January 31st 2010 5pm Where: Unitarian Universalist Church of Meadville, 346 Chestnut St, Meadville, PA (in the Parish house to the left of the Church Sanctuary) Directions: See http://www.uumeadville.org/directions.htm We would like to invite all folks of the community to join in celebration of Imbolc on Sunday January 31st 2010 at 5pm at the Parish House of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Meadville. The time of year when we honor the returning daylight and the first hints of Spring, when the animals in the fields start to show signs of the coming birthing season. The public ritual will be a Celtic style ADF Rite, with Brighid being the Deity of the occasion. Pre-Ritual briefing will be at 5:00pm, and ritual to be held at 5:30pm. A pot luck feast will follow the ritual. Donations to cover the cost of space rental would be very much welcomed, as well as household items, toys, work uniforms and cleaning supplies for Women's services. When: Friday February 12th 2010 7:00pm This is our Monthly Study Group at the Meadville Unitarian Universalist Parish House centering around Earth based
religions, and run by the Druids of Snow Water Grove, ADF. We'll have an open discussion section, and continuing our look at the 9 ADF virtues (we got through Integrity last time); continuing at Perseverance. Our secondary goal is to bring some of the Meadville/Crawford County pagan community out, to show that the Meadville UU Church is an accepting, religiously diverse, and friendly congregation with an atmosphere of mutual respect for different faiths. To show that, as we all know, "Church" is not a bad word! This is an open to the public group, be you a member of the UU Church or not, or be you pagan or non-pagan, without any rituals to follow, nor any participation or prior background needed.
